Cathe Cencia

Although born on the east coast, Cathe has called central Kentucky her home for most of her life. She studied Shakespeare and classical languages at UK and Xavier University, and upon receiving her BA attended Washington Montessori Institute at Loyola University. She is certified to teach ages six to twelve by Association Montessori International (AMI). In 2010, after teaching in Lexington and surrounding areas for many years, she came to Georgetown and founded Keystone Montessori Elementary. Cathe lives in Georgetown with her husband and two dogs, and where she enjoys knitting, cooking, and reading, as well as frequent visits from her two grown-up children (both Montessori students from their earliest years).

McKenzie was born and raised in central Kentucky and attended Asbury University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. McKenzie then sought Montessori training at the Montessori Institute of Atlanta, and is certified to teach ages six to twelve with a certificate from Association Montessori Internationale. She has lived in Versailles, KY for 15 years. McKenzie is a connoisseur of books (especially children’s literature), musicals, and US history.

Aubrey is the youngest child in a family of nine girls and one boy. She was raised in Wilmore, KY and enjoyed being homeschooled from kindergarten through 12th grade. Aubrey attended Asbury University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Church Music Leadership. She became interested in Montessori education when her college roommate went through Elementary Montessori Training and Aubrey was able to help edit all of her papers and lessons. When not working, Aubrey enjoys playing and teaching piano, reading, working outside, and spending time with her many nieces and nephews.
